Company to highlight commercial know-how and experience in electrochemical oxidation
VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada, June 1, 2023 — Growing concern about the health impact of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the environment is resulting in increasing regulatory scrutiny, putting enormous pressure on manufacturers to address PFAS in wastewater. At SUR/FIN 2023, being held June 6–8th in Cleveland, Ohio, Axine Water Technologies will showcase its proprietary electrochemical oxidation process, which destroys PFAS and other emerging contaminants on site, eliminating the need for expensive offsite disposal and reducing litigation risk.
Other technologies such as ion-exchange (IX) resins, foam fractionation, granulated activated carbon (GAC) and membranes, are effective at removing PFAS from water; however, this is only part of the process. Axine’s treatment takes it a step further by making sure PFAS is destroyed, allowing manufacturers to discharge or recycle the water in accordance with their manufacturing process.
“Electrochemical destruction shows great promise in the treatment of PFAS using electricity and advanced materials,” said Victor Leung, Vice President of Technology at Axine. “This technology achieves complete destruction of PFAS from contaminated water and can be used independently or integrated with separation/concentration processes.”
Recent laboratory testing performed on several industrial and synthetic wastewater streams and analyzed by an accredited, independent third-party environmental laboratory confirms the ability of Axine’s electrochemical destruction technology to achieve multi-log PFAS removal on streams with a wide range of starting concentrations.
Attendees of SUR/FIN 2023 are encouraged to visit Axine at booth 657 to learn more about how the company helps manufacturers keep pace with ever-changing regulations, increase operational efficiency, meet discharge permit requirements, and reduce risk.
